As a strategy to support the strengthening of micro and medium enterprises and to improve their access to credit, BANCÓLDEX created five Entrepreneurial Centers –BANCOLDEX CEB- in Bogotá, Cali, Barranquilla, Pereira and Bucaramanga.

This assistance scheme has become a true instrument to improve the attention for those smaller entrepreneurs who thought they had no access to credit, due to their lack of credit experience, or because their business units were too small or informal (not registered with the chamber of commerce).

Throughout 2009, BANCÓLDEX Entrepreneurial Centers provided assistance to 12,031 people, including entrepreneurs and businessmen in a timely manner and offered centralized financial services and entrepreneurial development services for their productive units.

During 2009, through financial entities associated with the CEBs, $19.471 billion were disbursed , to the benefit of 2,275 micro and small entrepreneurs of all economic sectors, granting an average credit of 8.6 million.
